I believe the blockchain technology that powers Ethereum enables secure digital ledgers to be publicly created and maintained. Adding onto Ethereum I believe its long term and future goal tops bitcoins future goal. The long term goal for Ethereum is to power more then just financial transactions. Software companies are able to build applications on Ethereum, ranging from decentralized platforms for lending money to social media networks.
