Ethereum is as they put it "the world's programmable blockchain.". Its a decentralized currency that can use the blockchain to power unique enterprises.

One solution that takes advantage of the blockchain system is the smart contract. It solves the problem with traditional contracts, in that both parties in a contract need to uphold it otherwise the contract becomes meaningless. By building contract on the blockchain out of computer code, it eliminates the chance for human error, or for one party not upholding the contract.

This is just one of the many solutions possible with Ethereum, and with the blockchain many other business opportunities become available.
If you had $100,000 to invest, what % of your money would you invest in this company?: I would probably invest 40%. The applications are very diverse, so its more resilient than other cryptocurrencies.
